You asked for more ways to play with clay, and here it is. Our brand new Hand-Building: Coloured Clay Workshop is a playful introduction to working with colour, pattern, and form ; no wheel required and no experience necessary.

In this 2.5 hour session, you'll learn how to inlay vibrant blues, greens, and other cool-toned clays into a white clay base to create unique marbled, illustrative and patterned surfaces. Once your designs are complete, you’ll shape them into small plates, bowls, or sculptural pieces using hand-building techniques like pinching and slab forming.

Guided by an experienced tutor, you'll be encouraged to experiment and make it your own. 12 participants per session, you’ll get plenty of one-on-one support in a relaxed, creative environment. It’s a perfect way to explore pottery from a different angle — whether you're new to clay or just looking for a fresh experience.

After the workshop, your pieces will be cleaned, clear gloss glazed to enhance the colour and pattern, and fired, ready for collection in 3 to 4 weeks. All materials, glazing, and firing are included in the price.
